My Music Video!
Dear blog fans - here it is! The video you've all been waiting for... ;)
After several months planning, filming and editing... here is my fun and random music video for that all time huge track Mambo Number 5. :D
Initial responses have been VERY positive:
- One of the video "stars", Cathy says:
(the filming sessions were manic, as will be discussed elsewhere... not all my fault :p)
- CurveMotion manager Tom and multiple cast members have also shown a "love" for the production!
I loved making this, and I think that's an important thing to reinforce. Don't always be serious while making productions - have abit of fun! :D
Many thanks to:
Josh Goddard, Tim Goddard, Dean Sawyer, Chandler, Chris Osman, Dean Sawyer, Lee Barnes and Josh Hudson for giving up their Thursday afternoon to film.
CurveMotion staff Cathy King & Rachel Hawkins for keeping Dean upright... and supplying their "skills" to the filming process.... on their day off!
Brad-Lee Hawkins for just being crazy and showing a group of 8 17-20 year olds how the whole skating thing is done properly!
My wonderful managers Tom Ogden, Amanda Wood & Sarah Burns for allowing me to film at CurveMotion.
:D

The Current State of Play...
Is there actually a saying called "all good projects have hitches" or have I just made that up while sat here?
Here's the 411 (as hip/street people would say)
Shot, prop and location lists have been done. Storyboards: complete. Camera: obtained.
Now. Filming. So far, it hasn't really happened for various reasons (people ill/backing out etc.) but hopefully I intend to get the vast majority of the content (at least 80%) filmed by Friday at the latest. Hopefully Tuesday/Wednesday after school.
Cast wise, that has mostly been finalised and most people have been given roles and agreed with them.
Camera availability isn't really a problem for me, as I have my own HD camcorder so I'm flexible when I can film in that aspect.
That's where I am at the moment. :)

Shot List
Here are the rather detailed shot lists. These will be used as a guide for 80-90% of filming, more shots or changes may need to be made during the filming and editing process. Click to enlarge.

Student Digipack & Magazine Advert #2: The New York Fund
Here is another example of a digipack and magazine advert from a previous student that used a song from band "The New York Fund" called "Nobody's Home".

Use of colour on the front cover is very good in my opinion. It is dynamic, and appeals to the teenagers and youngsters of today. The colourful lines against the black background really stand out well and the artist and track name text on top of the colour bars is the easy to notice. Despite the quirky nature of the text, I don't think it is as clear as it could be - I certainly had to give it a second glance to read what was on the front cover. This however might work in their favour, as the casual passer by in the shop might have to go back to read the cover in more detail...
